e-deletion (Proto-Algonquian)

Rule /e/ deletes after a vowel
Abbreviation EDel

Indefinite-actor suffix must be set up as */-en/, with underlying *e, rather than */-(e)n/, with linking *e, because it triggers the null allomorph of a preceding direct theme sign, which is triggered only by a following vowel-initial suffix. A rule of e-deletion is thus needed for forms in which */-en/ follows a (non-deleting) vowel and loses its *e.
